In the year of 2016,New Homoeopathic Act was passed by the Parliament.(Act No.10th of 2016)The new Homoeopathic Act No 10th of 2016 was appointed by the Hon.Minster of Health, Nutrition and indigenous medicine on 21st October 2016 in order to appoint a Homoeopathic interim Committee in accordance with the Act.its term of the office is two years.
According to 10th Homoeopathic act in 2016 new Homoeopathic Medical council appointed in 9th August 2020 by Hon Minster of indigenous medicine.
Vision of the HMC is “Promotion of the homoeopathic medical system up to the level of national health services”.
The mission is “Popularization, upliftment and development of homoeopathy medical system by creating appropriate policies with regard to the promotion of human and physical resources pertaining to it”.
Government Clinics
Thirteen (13) government homoeopathic clinics are functioning under the Homoeopathy Medical Council. The government clinics are located in Puttalam, Kotmale, Ambalanthota, Batticaloa, Dehiwala, Galle, Ingiriya, Kurunegala, Matale, Monaragala, Tholangamuwa, Palamunei and Parakaduwa.
